BenQ W770ST Short Throw 3D 720p HD DLP Home Theater Projector (White)

I did a lot of research on projectors before deciding on this one. It pretty much came down to this one and the Benq W1080ST. The deciding factor was that I own hundreds of DVDs and only a couple Blu-Rays. I read that DVD video is only 480p, so the W770ST has more then enough resolution for what I needed it for. I just couldn't justify paying over $400 more for the W1080ST and then have to upgrade all of my DVDs to Blu-Rays to even get a better resolution. That would have cost a lot more then either one of the projectors cost. So far I really love this projector. On a 12.5 foot wide movie I have to be six foot or closer to see any pixelation, but who wants to be six foot away from a 12.5 foot wide screen? I have read that with a 720p projector about 1.5 times the width of the screen is the optimum distance away from the screen. But with this projector I find that I like a 1:1 ratio from the screen. So far none of us that have viewed this projector have noticed any rainbow effects that I have read to be a small issued with this projector. We are just using a beige wall for our screen and the picture looks better than our 1080p LCD TV. The picture maybe even better with an actual projector screen. I have watched almost ten movies on this projector and they all look great. Transformers 2 has never looked better. If feels like we have a theater in our living room. Play Station 3 games look great as well. This biggest compliment I can give this projectors is that when I was first telling my wife my idea of buying a projector; her response was "I'm not watching movies on the side of the wall, That's just ghetto." but after seeing how good it looks she loves it. We even just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and were talking about going out to see a movie. My wife said " Why don't we just stay home and watch a movie on the projector". I think the only way I could change my mind about loving this projector is if it quits working prematurely. If it ever does I will edit this review or write another one.
